Quick Tips: Installing 3/8" Tie-Lok Ties

December 10.2024

When securing your application with Tie-Lok® Ties, it is critical to ensure that they have been correctly installed. Incorrectly installed ties can have an insufficient clamping force, create safety hazards, damage your application, and reduce the longevity of the tie. Look below at examples of correctly and incorrectly installed ties:

Correctly Installed:

  • Tool is at the correct angle of attack. (Between 20-25 degrees relative to the work piece)
  • Tool is flush with the buckle before installation. (The buckle is inside the buckle clips)
  • There is a noticeable locking dimple and the excess tail has been precisely cut.

Incorrectly Installed:

  • Tool is at an upwards angle and not flush with the buckle.
  • There is no noticeable locking dimple and there is excess tail.
